Kamalkant received his M.A. in Drawing and Painting at Vikram University, Ujjain in 1987 and has since held 6 solo exhibitions in galleries like Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai; Le Royal Meridien, Mumbai and Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. In addition, he has exhibited at over 10 group & joint shows, primarily in Mumbai & Delhi.
Kamalkant has worked on various mediums such as terracotta, canvas, ceramic, glass, stone and wood. He has been creating sculptures for the past 18 years, but has increasingly shifted focus to paintings over time.
Having worked as a Sub-Editor for the Sunday Mail as well as the Delhi Mid-Day, Kamalkant has also had articles published in the Navbharat Times, Mid-Day, Nai Dunia, Sunday Mail, Kahani and Dainik Jagran on topics like Fine Art, Theater and Literature over the years.
